Mirrors
Installation, oil on canvas, (9) 40 x 40 cm secila, 2021-2022

  • The conceptual approach:

The series of mirrors evidences a strong liking of the Romanian artist for realistic images ranging from film stills, to artificial landscapes to the interiors of various buildings. Mirrors as a reflection on the multitude of images that surround us, occupy a large part in my artistic creativity. Such an approach helps the artist to explore more types of images in developing the mirror series, including text, close-ups and figure-like images. This way, which combines the real truth with the artificial truth on the canvas. The series of mirrors are on round canvases and when placed together, create compositions filtered through a personal perspective. Blue and silver colors are used to reflect images of reality and sculptural forms.
The painting "Interrupted Video" was inspired by the message on Youtube and I liked how it resonates with us: can we keep track of the things around us? Are we so connected to technology, or can we stop and rethink what to do next?
