Ph.D. YAN LAICHAO

Yan LAICHAO is a contemporary artist and curator who lives between Italy and China. He graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy in 2015. He then defended his Doctor of Science degree in Art History and Curation at Jinan State University in China.

He currently holds the position of General Secretary of the Association for the Development of Art “Flow”.

His works are part of various collections such as: Bellini Museum, Guangdong Art Museum, Hubei Art Museum, Luohu Art Museum and other institutions.

In 2013 he won first prize in the painting section of the Florence Biennale.

In addition to his academic activity, he is the author of two solo exhibitions at: Guangzhou Shunli Space Guangzhou (2021) and Takayama Museum, Shangri-La (2023), as well as part of many international joint exhibitions at: Museo Medici, (2012) , Florence Academy of Fine Arts (2013), Milan Design Week (2013), 10th edition of the Florence International Art Biennale (2013), Pam Art Museum, Naples (2014), Museum of Painting Theater of of Venice (2015), Palazzo Michele, Venice (2015), Paratissima International Art Fair (2016), Taimiao Art Museum, Beijing (2017), Beijing Zhuzhong Art Museum, Beijing (2017), Shi Gallery, Beijing (2018) ), Palazzo Medici (2018), Rome Art and Culture Biennale (2019), Nanjing Normal University Art Museum, Nanjing (2020), Beijing Contemporary Art Fair (2021), Luohu Shenzhen Art Museum ( 2022), Yixing City Art Museum (2023), Sannio Cardino National Archaeological Museum (2023).

An important part of his professional activity is the curation of many exhibitions such as: “All Roads”, International Financial Center Changsha (2019), “Tracce”, Villa Strozzi (2020), “Art Ideas”, Academy of Fine Arts in Florence (2021), “From East to West”, Bellini Museum and Villa Strozzi (2023) and “Art meets music”, Villa Strozzi (2023).
